Important information

To take part in sporting activities, you must be in good health and have an average level of fitness. Among other things, you should be able to get up again under your own steam after a fall. You should also have a basic motivation to want to learn and experience something.

The minimum age is 6 years. There is no upper age limit.

The only important thing is that you are physically and mentally fit enough to take part in a sporting activity in sometimes steep terrain.

No prior knowledge is required for participation.

When booking, please let us know what level you consider yourself to be at. If you are booking for several people, please indicate the lowest level. Please note that if there are several participants, they should all be at approximately the same level so that everyone can benefit from the lessons. If you want the private guide to be more of a companion, this point is less important. Your private guide will always adapt to the “weakest” participant.

BEGINNER (first time on skis or snowboard)

BEGINNER PLUS (making turns, but not always)

ADVANCED (you can get down the mountain, but not quite as elegantly and safely yet)

SKILLED (only the technique is still a bit lacking – it’s time to learn to carve)

EXPERT (only bookable for snowboarders)

You need clothing suitable for winter – waterproof and windproof ski, snowboard or touring clothing is best. You will also need good, warm gloves – windproof and waterproof, as well as good sun protection (ski or snowboard goggles).

Safety equipment such as a helmet and back protector is recommended. However, it is up to you to decide whether you want to wear these. If you don’t want to wear a helmet, don’t forget to bring a warm headband or cap.

Your ski and snowboard equipment (skis or snowboard, bindings and boots) should not be too old and should certainly be in full working order. Check your equipment before you set off on your trip. Old and used equipment breaks quickly in the cold and therefore poses a safety risk. Ski bindings must be adjusted to your ski boots by a specialist. If you don’t have your own equipment, you can hire it locally from various sports shops.

With all equipment, it is important that it fits you well (neither too big nor too small), has no damage and is in perfect and well-maintained condition. Also make sure that the skis or snowboard are suitable for your ability level.

You discuss the meeting point directly with your private guide. Depending on your skiing ability and the weather and snow conditions, one or other meeting point may be more suitable.

If you are in Adelboden for the first time, it can be a little confusing to find out where to go due to the different sub-areas and locations. We will be happy to pick you up at your hotel or holiday accommodation on request. Of course, this also applies to parents who have registered their children for lessons and don’t want to send them on the course alone.

You can buy your lift ticket online or on site at the tourist information or at one of the cable car valley stations. In order not to lose any time on the day of the lesson, it is advisable to organise the lift ticket the day before.

There are various catering options on the mountain. Your private guide knows the area and can recommend the right one for you. Of course, you can also take your own picnic with you up the mountain – there are a few places where you can take this with you, sheltered from the weather. If you have booked the private guide for the whole day, it is customary for you to have lunch together at your expense. However, this is not compulsory and you are welcome to send your private guide away for lunch or let him pay for itself.

If you book your private guide for several days and intend to stay overnight in Adelboden, make sure that you have booked your accommodation in advance. Hotels, holiday homes and flats book up quickly, especially in the high season.

In the booking process, you can book various activities depending on the service you have selected. Some of these are organised directly by and with your Private Guide and others by selected partners. As these are outdoor activities, they may be postponed at short notice due to snow or weather conditions, for example. If an activity cannot be carried out due to force majeure, we will endeavour to offer and carry out an alternative activity.
